The BRAVE project develops biocatalysts for the sustainable synthesis of high-value pharmaceutical compounds. We design and optimize enzymes to enable greener routes to nitriles, chiral amines, and other key building blocks for active pharmaceutical ingredients. 
Our work combines structural, biochemical, biophysical, and computational approaches to discover and engineer enzymes with enhanced efficiency and selectivity. By understanding enzyme function at the molecular level, we advance robust and environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional chemical synthesis.
