This research investigates SPF proteins, putative pheromones mediating chemical communication in Malagasy amphibians. We characterize their structural and biochemical properties to understand the molecular basis of signaling and species specificity. These studies provide insight into protein-mediated communication mechanisms across diverse species. By defining molecular traits linked to species diversity, this work contributes to biodiversity research. Ultimately, it supports conservation efforts by improving the molecular understanding of amphibian diversity.
