Our group is involved in an interdisciplinary drug discovery programme funded by the Fondo Italiano per la Scienza (FIS) grant awarded to Guido Papa, aimed at developing innovative antiviral therapeutics against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).

We contribute to the identification and experimental validation of small molecules targeting essential viral proteins involved in RSV replication through an integrated approach combining computational modelling, structural and biophysical characterisation, and in vitro and cell-based assays. Candidate compounds are evaluated for target engagement, binding properties, and antiviral activity, with the most promising ligands potentially further developed into bifunctional degraders.
