This research investigates the structural and biophysical properties of MMACHC, a protein involved in vitamin B12 metabolism and linked to cblC disease. We analyze how pathogenic mutations affect protein structure, and pursue the structure-based identification and characterization of small-molecule inhibitors. These studies define the structural determinants of MMACHC dysfunction and ligand binding, supporting the development of targeted therapeutic strategies.
